Journal of Islamic Studies and Education Innovation (JISEI)

  1. Role of Reviewers

Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality of manuscripts published in JISEI. Their responsibilities include:

  • Providing objective, constructive, and detailed feedback.
  • Assessing the suitability of the manuscript to the scope of the journal.
  • Ensuring that the manuscript meets ethical publication standards.
  1. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the article based on the following criteria:

Originality and Novelty

  • Does the research present new findings or innovations in Islamic Studies and Education Innovation?
  • Is the manuscript free from plagiarism or duplication?

Relevance to the Journal’s Scope

  • Is the manuscript aligned with the scope of JISEI, namely Islamic studies and educational innovation?

Content Quality and Argumentation

  • Are the research objectives clearly stated?
  • Is the theoretical framework relevant and up-to-date?
  • Are the analysis and discussion logical and in-depth?

Research Methodology

  • Is the method appropriate and valid for the research objectives?
  • Is the data sufficient and reliable to support the findings?

Presentation and Structure

  • Does the article follow the JISEI template (Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References)?
  • Is the language clear and grammatically correct?

References and Citation

  • Are the references drawn from primary and recent sources (at least 70% from the last 5 years)?
  • Does the manuscript use APA Style (7th Edition) correctly?
  1. Reviewer Ethics
  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript under review.
  • Do not use any part of the manuscript for personal purposes.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest (e.g., having a direct relationship with the author).

 

  1. Types of Decisions

After the review, reviewers should recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission – The article is accepted without revision.
  • Revisions Required – The article is accepted with minor revisions.
  • Resubmit for Review – The article requires major revisions and another review round.
  • Decline Submission – The article is rejected because it does not meet the criteria.

 

  1. Technical Review Instructions
  • The review process is conducted through the Open Journal System (OJS) of JISEI.
  • Reviewers are required to complete the review form provided in the OJS, including comments for the editor and comments for the author.
  • The review should be completed within 14 days of accepting the invitation.

 

  1. Comment Style
  • Comments for authors must be constructive, polite, and focused on improvement.
  • If something is unclear, provide specific suggestions (e.g., “Please include recent references related to Islamic education innovation theory”).
